Welcome to Demerch.com — a multi-vendor marketplace built to empower African businesses and showcase authentic products to the world. By registering as a seller, you agree to comply with this Seller Policy in addition to our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.

1. Seller Eligibility

Sellers must be 18 years or older.

Sellers must provide valid identification (e.g., Ghana Card, Business Registration Certificate, or equivalent in their country).

Businesses must comply with all local and international trade laws.

2. Product Listings

All products must be accurately described with clear images, titles, and specifications.

Counterfeit, pirated, or prohibited goods (e.g., narcotics, weapons, restricted wildlife, or culturally offensive items) are strictly forbidden.

Sellers must categorize items correctly under the appropriate category, sub-category, and sub-sub category.

Sellers are responsible for ensuring pricing accuracy (inclusive of VAT/taxes where applicable).

Stock availability must be accurately updated to avoid overselling.

3. Quality Standards

All items must meet minimum quality expectations and match the description provided.

Sellers must not misrepresent second-hand or refurbished goods as new.

Products must comply with safety and regulatory standards (e.g., electronics safety, food expiry labels).

4. Order Fulfillment

Sellers must process and ship orders within the stated handling time.

Packaging must be secure, safe, and protective of the product.

Sellers must provide accurate shipping/tracking details where applicable.

Failure to fulfill confirmed orders may result in penalties or suspension.

5. Returns & Refunds

Sellers must honor Demerch.com’s Return & Refund Policy, which protects buyers in cases of defective, damaged, or incorrect items.

Disputes will be handled through Demerch.com’s Dispute Resolution Center.

Refunds for eligible claims will be processed via Demerch.com’s payment system.

6. Pricing & Payments

Sellers are free to set prices but must avoid price gouging during high-demand periods.

Payments for completed orders will be released after deducting platform fees and are subject to the return/refund window.

Sellers must provide valid bank account or mobile money details for payouts.

7. Fees & Commissions

Demerch.com charges a commission on each sale (percentage varies by category).

Additional fees (e.g., premium placements, ads, promotional boosts) may apply but are optional.

8. Seller Conduct

Sellers must treat buyers with professionalism and respect.

Misuse of buyer data (for off-platform marketing, fraud, or harassment) is strictly prohibited.

Fake reviews, manipulation of ratings, or fraudulent activities will lead to suspension.

Sellers must comply with Data Protection laws in Ghana and internationally (GDPR, where applicable).

9. Intellectual Property (IP)

Sellers must not list or sell products that infringe on trademarks, copyrights, or patents.

Demerch.com reserves the right to remove infringing listings and suspend repeat violators.

10. Account Suspension & Termination

Demerch.com reserves the right to suspend or terminate seller accounts for:

• Repeated policy violations
• Fraudulent activity
• Selling prohibited goods
• Failure to fulfill orders consistently

11. Dispute Resolution

Disputes between buyers and sellers will be mediated by Demerch.com.

If unresolved, Demerch.com reserves the right to issue refunds to buyers and deduct amounts from the seller’s account.

12. Policy Updates

This Seller Policy may be updated periodically. Sellers will be notified of material changes.

Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes agreement to the revised policy.
